You’re all too opinionated to get along but no one else will hang out with you because you’ve been established as an outsider, so you just hang out with the same group of other opinionated nerds for like six years and you all hate each other but you have no other options for friendship

The Five Geek Social Fallacies is alarmingly accurate.
This is why it’s recommended, in my opinion, to acquire friends who respect and maybe occasionally indulge in your specific geekish tendencies, but aren’t actually a member of that geeky circle. Those kinds of friends are valuable people.
