I have to remember that I want to do this technique more - the whole drawing values and then adding colour afterwards. I dunno, I love the look of it and I think it would help me not panic and go too-black or too-saturated when I digitally paint with colours.

I just like it lots. XD Okay I confess that I did try it recently but then I got lazy and it came out looking kinda crappy, and then I panicked and just added a million layers of uselessness when I should’ve just gone back to scratch and re-tackled the original grayscale layer….BUT OH WELL LEARNING PROCESS.

My damned artist’s block though.  Damnnnnnn

The Painted Desert was an art gallery page on the Roy Harper fan website Roytoys.org, of which I have submitted two interviews from two different comic creators. I lost track of the old gallery a while ago but only just managed to find it again. I’m posting the Roy Harper pieces done by Glockgal of Tumblr.

The fifth piece of Roy as a pirate was apparently for a story the website’s owner was working on.
